Hi I've finally found a production non hinged hatch, window. Basically to use as the companion way access. www.nemoindustrie.com/en/sailboat-accessories/non-hinged-hatches/The come in 60x60cm, and can be removed. I am going for the companion way top section and will remove the window and slide it into the roof of the companion way. I was keen to find a way to not use a standard hatch, anyway just in case anyone is likewise looking. I'm getting a quote for this and the other hatches needed, will advise when I get costs. Might need a bit of tweaking to be able to be closed from the inside though! Cheers Joe

Hi
Intrigued why you want a non hinged hatch?
How would you secure it to the boat? Just thinking if you get hit by a big greeny when you are opening it and it gets ripped away and over the side you would be left with a big hole to fill.
Am I missing something?
Cheers
Peter

Hi Joe,
I like those hatchs, for the cockpit lockers or bunks. Could you sit on them or lean against them and have watertight access to the lockers ?

Jim
You can walk on them, but the quote came back and they are £1,000 with VAT. I've gone for Gebo low profile hatches. Ordered all from Gebo. Like Lewmar but a bit cheaper.
Cheers

Thanks Joe,
Did you use the UK distributer, International Marine Products ?
