If you use any liquid fuel besides white spirits (white gas/ coleman fuel) in any of these multifuel stoves it will produce a lot of soot. I'd eat cold oats for breakfast before I did it inside my boat.Potential flare-ups during startup (Marco's note above) are also a risk I wouldn't take inside the boat, particularly in a seaway.
(based on experience using Coleman, Primus and MSR multifuel stoves 20+ years and as a guide/outfitter)
I had a Taylors paraffin stove on my previous boat - pre-heating was essential, and it ran pretty cleanly when burning the pre-heated paraffin. Once you get the pre-heating technique nailed its ok (minimal flares if using meths, i.e. not the actual main fuel), but way less convenient than gas. However finding somewhere to fit a gas bottle with a drain or store gas cannisters outside is a bit of a challenge on the Mini 580. I did see a neat solution to storing the jet boil/ camping stove style cannisters on deck in a pvc plumbing tube with a vent cap on the bottom and a screw lid on top somewhere, the tube was clipped to a guard rail - this seemed simple and effective.
Hi
Sorry about the bad stir on the Origo.
I came across this when looking for alternatives.

Looks like to Origo. Then I found a forum comment that suggested these are the 3000 being marketed by a German firm now. How would we know!

Ah - nice find Peter! Yeah its a bit weird not making the change of name obvious as i think i'm not the only person looking for the Origo products judging by the comments elsewhere on the t'interwebs.
