Thanks for the good ideas! I got a question about the hatch just aft of the mast. Is that compulsory? I’ve planned a 40x40 hatch on the foredeck, a 50x50 hatch at the entrance. I skipped the dome and install a polycarbonate (lexan) “window” instead. On each side the two windows as cut in the cnc kit, also polycarbonate. And two closable vents on deck You may want to check on the foredeck hatch requirement. Last I saw it required 50cm across one dimension (e.g. 50x50, 50x30, 50Diameter.). As noted earlier in this thread. unless that changed

Thanks Daniel, I missed that one. Is the measurement of 50cm the cut out or the size of the hatch itself? It is not stated so precise
Another question: instead of the dome, can I put one big hatch on the deck instead of a small one directly aft of the mast. Of course without changing the construction itself?

Have been browsing into the net all around the various blogs to get as much informations possible to have a "clear" idea of how all builders found solutions for every important part of mandatory rules and specialy opening inside hatch of the watertight forward compartment ; have read also Don's explanations ( do not remeber in which thread !!) about opening forward to aft ... But ..... watching at various finihed boats I now have a doubt concerning which way this hatch have to be fit and opened Am I missing some updated rule ?
