Hi Fellow builders, some quick questions,
I'm hanging the frames on the strongback. I've finished dry-fitting the bunk sides, to line up frames A and D1, All good.
Question 1: the slots for the bottom small stringer are not cut out on frame B, and the solid wood piece is cut for the stringer. I presume I have to cut it but surprised it's not done in the kit ?
Question 2: The top of frame B [bottom] is 5 mm above the bunk sides, seems a lot to have to take off ?
3: I'll try not to forget to thread frame C over the bunk-sides before epoxy !
Getting there...

I've just watched Alan's video and I see the chine stringer is cut through frame B, it would have to be, wouldn't it ?

I've just watched Alan's video and I see the chine stringer is cut through frame B, it would have to be, wouldn't it ? Hi Jim,
Yep, i remember having to cut that notch out of frame B - i think panel B6 maybe? the triangular bit... whatever that was. I think maybe a miss with the CNC cut file. Only found one other bit with the kit that didn't seem right and that was the notches for the bottom chine log on frame S - piece S11 appears to have been cut to the minimum size and not the maximum size.
I'll try to explain it, but a picture might be better, not sure i have one though. As the frame is slanted the 90 degree routing to make the notch shape should be to the chine location when slanted (maximum size) and then up to the builder to remove the timber to make it fit correctly. It seems too much material has been removed from this piece in the kit. When you offer up the stringers/ chine log you'll see what i mean (unless i just screwed up - quite possible!). Its not a difficult thing to fix with some structural filler, and not a particularly critical location as well supported otherwise. Considering the number of cut pieces and that the kit has only just been released, only missing one notch is a testament to the B&B yacht design guys ability to create the kit properly (i.e. creating a 3d model of the finished boat and not just copying flat plans and hoping stuff fits and is fair).
Having a ball putting the kit together here in the cow shed! (although its getting quite cold and draughty!)

Thanks Pete,
You're right, the kit is so good that when I hit something that does not fit perfectly, I immediately think it's my fault ! I'll watch out for that Frame S issue, reckon I'm a week away yet. Regarding the weather, I have a little heater running 24 hours, just to keep chill out. We had our first proper frost last night.
