The first stage of the Mini Globe Race is to qualify for entry by building to completed hull stage (hull laminated and flipped), and 1000 ocean sailing miles (as listed on the 5.80 events web page. Entry requirements may change with publication of NOR. Don in the forums mentioned completed decks and keel built as an entry requirement.)
With entries limited to 30, and additional entry criteria likely after the first 20 entries, the race is on.
To make it easy to see current standings, I've made an Unofficial Construction Leaderboard here:
docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1DMW3jd4XtV3NWXTjK4c2vc9iSc0YHGLtFgJhuS4K_h4/edit?usp=sharing
Some Caveats:
Not everyone building may intend to enter MGR.
Not everyone building has a registered builder's blog for some reason (I'm looking at you Jeff Hargenrader, and Mini La Pagode (Hull 33).
I'm not tracking the ocean sailing miles entry requirement, as some people have publicised this, but others may not.
If new entry requirements are published, I will add them.
Updates will be made periodically, when I feel like it.

Leaderboard updated. Looks like #47 will be third hull to flip! Nice work Pete, the peel ply looks like a great finish, can't wait to see it fully peeled.

I'm finding this a handy way to follow build progress and compare construction at different stages. Getting a lot of technique ideas from the different builds. Thanks.
Assuming the construction 'race' aspect is a bit tongue in cheek... It's great to see the info sharing and camaraderie between builders. It's a great start for the class and sure to continue on the water.

Thanks, the peel ply seems to have helped a bit in terms of keeping the resin usage to the optimum ratio for the glass weight as well.
My hull turn will be earlier than others due to the shed owner not allowing me to complete the fairing step in there (don't ask - long story involving the shed owner not fully understanding the process). I'm going to do the exterior works elsewhere towards the end of the build - i.e. fairing and painting.
In other news - its a bit weird not knowing who you are. Builder or follower? Care to share what your interest is in this group?

I'm not trying to be an internet creeper! I just don't put any personal information on the public internet if it can be avoided, hence the username. I could have put in a pseudonym, but it autofills as "Guest" so I figured I'd just stick with that (also, I think it's more honest to be anonymous than to use a fake name). I'm aiming for a Mini Globe Race but not 2024, it will be one of the subsequent editions. So I'm in the follower/future builder category. I first made the list for myself to make it easy to compare builds at different stages and take notes for my own future build. Framing it as a leaderboard is just a bit of fun, since they are race boats!

Great progress on some of the builds. #78, built by Kolibri, shows how quickly things can progress with a professional team of boat builders, also some nice ideas for efficient/high quality building #46, newly listed blog, the build is at the ready-to-plank-hull stage, with a nice tidy build and also has a tally of labour hours.

I found myself spending way too much time looking and thinking about 5.80 building, so went cold turkey and stopped following for about 6 months. Just had another look and updated the table. Cool to see yachts starting to hit the water.
