Hi
Just looking at the portlights, although it’s a little way ahead!
Does anyone know if they are cut in the CNC Kit to any standard manufacturer portlight sizes?
Thanks
Peter

From the shape of them, I don't think they will fit any off-the-shelf portlights. There are shapes in the the CNC cutting file to have pieces of acrylic cut to fit.

TREKKA II is just fitting two opening ports ..one each side....so if you want to do that you need to tell the kit supplier before they cut to NOT cut windows...in fact it is a good idea sometimes too as it lets the ply form to shape rather than distort when bending?? but it is OK...you MUST use LEXAN or poly-carbonate for the ports...NOT perspex....good luck...and same if you want to fit a bubble you tell the kit supplier before they cut the Observation pod first...

We appear to need to have at least one window in the side of the boat - but Trekka2 appears to not have any from the photos on Piotrs blog. Is the intention of the rule that we need to have a certain minimum amount of vision from inside - i.e. the bubble/ observation pod allows for this? Or is Trekka2 getting them later?
edit - last sentence...

I have two Plastimo opening ports going in Trekka II...just not cut yet... one each side....and yes the whole idea is to be buttoned up in a storm, but still be able to check the rig, sails, sea and horizon from inside.... good luck! ....
