Hi builders,
I've just finished frames E, D and C.
I had laid out frame C, squared up and was about to screw together to lock things in place for epoxy. I'll just do one last measurement diagonally and lock it all down, but it was out a few mm. Checked again and again and thought, this kit is wrong ?
Half an hour later, all was good and locked in place, so again the lesson I have learned a thousand timed before, measure twice, and cut or epoxy just once.
Also, is there a typo on the kit sheets for frame B ?
The widest half width is 1135, so 1135 x 2 is 2270. But the sheet shows 2266 ? 2270 is shown as a diagonal measurement so were they swapped in error ? Also, the bottom chine half width on the original plans is 1060 but on the kit sheets the full lower width is 2121, a whole mm out ?
Maybe I'll put frame A together instead...
Jim

No worries, I've built frame B as per the original plans, looks good. Five frames built and my wife takes me off for a short holiday, I don't want a holiday, I want to smell epoxy!

Sorry I did not respond to your question. To be honest I cannot remember, I didn’t make any notes of issues. However I did have quite a bit of head scratching on a couple of frames.
In the end I placed my trust in the kit as cut. As long as the frame was symmetrical I didn’t worry about the odd “mm” here and there not being as per the plans.
Good to see you are enjoying the build already! Enjoy your holiday.
