Hi
I note in the Trekka blog that a polyurethane glue was used to fix the second layer of bottom of the hull to the first layer.
Is anyone familiar with these glues and could recommend a brand which maybe be available in the UK and volume to needed?
I read on a wooden boat building form (dangerous new hobby) that “someone” had experienced that “Gorilla” glue had gone brittle after a couple of years, so they were going back to an epoxy based glue.
Any thoughts? Don’t want my bottom hanging out in a couple of years time.
thanks
peter

Hi Peter,
It looked to me like Gorilla glue was used, because of the expansion. I've used it for outdoor furniture and it seems ok after 3 years, but I feel your concern.
Cascamite is the traditional boat builders glue, a powder mix.
Good question.
