Howdy mini-ers, Been looking at the sailplan drawings and wondering if anyone has decided on a sheeting system for the larger foresails? Looks like the sheet lead for these sails is designed to be turned pretty much at the very aft end of the cockpit coaming, then i assume to a winch (one of the two winches) or some other solution.
I know i'm a bit away from needing this decided but...while i'm building various bits now I'm trying to think of where i need to build in deck reinforcement doublers for turning/cheek blocks or strongpoints for movable snatch blocks etc. Any thoughts folks have had already on this topic very welcome!

Hi Pete,
On my current boat (little bit larger) I use the rear deck cleats and attach a block with a soft shackle. I'm planning to do the same here with 2 different lengths of soft shackle (if required) for the 2 headsails. Don't need the cleats at sea and don't need the headsails in harbour.
And don't worry Don, I'm going to make the soft shackles out of polyester not dyneema :-).

hahaha HI Pete...actually we could allow that soft shackles in exotic are ok...as they are not so expensive and already spliced?? ...LOL..seriously?? we will allow donuts and exotic lines for Bowsprit Bobstay yet to be announced.....we are also reviewing jib sheeting angles with our sail designer and will have that sorted soon for tracks and single point sheeting..some may want to use a 360 floating donut instead of track but too many strings for me ..I am using the aft feet of my pushpit for Gennaker Block as my Bollard is a bit far forward and block would hit rail...?? maybe...Hmmmm??

Cool, exotic soft shackles would be great.
Dyneema isn't that expensive if bought on a 100m reel. 6mm dyneema is around £250 in the UK and the equivalent strength 10mm poly is around £210.

This sounds like a good plan - I may add some strong points onto the pushpit leg bases as well - even if not used for the sheeting they'll come in useful at some point i'm sure - and the less fasteners through the deck the better.
Are you planning on leading the sheet to the snubbing winch, or some other solution?

Yes they will go straight to the winches...I am putting two attachments each side but I will test the sheeting of both to the rear mount as I only bought one block each side for that?? if I do need to sheet to the forward one..then I will worry about it later lol.
