Hi Don,
Seems like there are a lot of questions regarding 'can we do this, can we do that' kind of thing. I can see the rules/ mast/ sails section of the website has some basic requirements, which will be good when we're getting to the fit out of hulls stage, but for now is there a single source of truth document that has a version control etc we can refer to that covers everything in one place?
Thinking that your builders notes etc are one source of info, the website 'rules' pages are another, the forum is another informal source etc. It might save some costly rework if we can have a single doc that is released with a new version any time a significant update is made. (web pages and builders note can simply refer to it and provide highlights, so long as it is kept up to date).
I get it though, this is not meant to be an admin-heavy class! Common sense will be most important of all I suspect! - but when we start investing large amounts of time and money into the builds it'll be good to be able to refer to the standards/rules doc that we were working to at the time.
Happy to help with this if you think useful.

Thanks....Yes an excellent idea the only thing is we have petty much finished with all the issues. We have tried to make them as simple and obvious as possible....and any developements up till now have been fine tuning for the build and setting claifications for the many questions that arise once we start building...like ply and lamination schedule for the variables...we do not want to be too prescriptive...so right now we are very happy about the build process and cannot see any more issues or changes around the edges....with everything set and now explained as well as we can. Boats to be stucturally built to Plan, no lighter etc etc..strengthen at your own risk. The 5.80 Registration documents are complete and clear so a solid guideline and the build is very simple. The last thing with be the builders declaration to sign once built, but that will be posted in a few weeks and effects nothing for now. It is signed by builder at completion confirming compliance to plans etc...So lets hope that is the end of it Our roll now is to keep an eye on the builds and answer questions. For the 5.80 CLASS Rules and equipment requirements, that is a different issue, seperate from the build and all is explained well enough for now on the website. The actual events are then posted with the Pre-Notice of Race...or the Notice of Race for event specifics in the months ahead. Genuinley appeciate the offer of help THANKS!...slowly all builders will help each other as new builds come behind them...same with all issues ...the other final thing I would say is that there will always be Questions no matter what we do...there is a lot of reading to absorb and some just want to get on with it LOL!!...all the best...THANKS!
