In Italy if i am not mistaken without CE certification of class A or B (offshore navigation) you cannot sail beyond 12 miles from the coast, that means that one cannot train himself properly. This may be the cause that i am not aware of an italian builder.

This may be the cause that i am not aware of an italian builder. You do not need CE certification for your Globe 5.80 as it is exempt for a few reasons but most obvious is that it is a One Design Class Racing yacht Managed by a Class organisation with all boats certified and registered...so happy sailing... My opinion and personal experience about certifications: If you are going to build your boat with the idea of only participating in the events that the Class does, you should not have problems anywhere in the world, you are going to move within the safety rules and conditions imposed by the event organization. But when it comes to wanting to have our sailboat to navigate freely through the waters of our respective countries, at least in my country I must comply with the requirements of the Agency that controls the safety of navigation, starting with the request for permission for construction, Presentation of plans, etc., even if it belongs to an international class, since the safety at the time I freely navigate the seas becomes their responsibility and the boat has to be registered and verified. In fact, that is why I am currently waiting for an inspection and approval of plans by this Body, even if the class has its worldwide approval. This is my case, it is possible that in other places it is different but it does not hurt to be informed. Good luck and continue enjoying !!
PD: sorry about my "Google" english....
