All,
I'm trying to decide whether or not I can build a 580 in my garage. The fundamental dimensions (length, width) work out ok (just about...) however there are two other dimensions that would be useful to understand.
The first is the maximum height above ground of the upside-down hull whilst it's on the strongback and the second is the height above ground at the transom whilst it's upside down on the strongback. This will determine whether or not I can open the up-and-over garage door with the boat inside the garage - the garage is only 6m long so there won't be much clearance between the boat and the door!
Thanks all, Matt

Transom 1500mm, bottom at front of keel 1730mm +/- Not sure where are in the world if you can wheel it out side when the weather is nice but you need room to work around it and on top of it do some portions. There is also a lot of stuff to store whilst your building. They do fit inside and a 20’ sea can with the keel and jewellery off so that’s the minimum but you can’t work on it in that much space.

Thanks brucel - that's helpful.
In the UK so working outside is possible from time to time but not reliably (at least not until the hull and topsides are complete and waterproof). Storage isn't too much of an issue because I live on my own so can allocate part of the living room to storage without annoying anyone.

Lots of boats built in tight spaces, the sun shines in the UK some times.

I’m building my 580 in a single car garage that’s 22’ x 12’ and it’s close to having the hull finished.
