Hi, This is a wonderfull project and i'm very excited with it. But...always a but... I'm sure a lot of people will have this boats but not so many will participate in the class events, for many reasons... So a lot of people will have this boats for sailling on the bay or to do mini cruising. With so many rules (blog during 5 years, just one saillmaker, just one cnc cutter for country, no option of coulors on same part of the boats and sails, etc, etc) i think many people will start building their boats without buying the plans and without registation on the class...because they only want to build a good, solid, secure and cheap boat to do mini cruissing. The registation need to be a more simple process. The price need to be lower if not this class will be dead in a couple of years. Just my opinion Chears

The beauty of boats and sailing is that it comes in many shapes and sizes to fit all dreams, with a lot of choice, so you can look at many boats...Yes you can even buy Building Plans for this Globe 5.80 and sail the Bay and go micro cruising. Some are doing just that. We encourage that and Dreams are beautiful...so NO rules, NO safety colours , make you own sails, cheap as the wind..but there is one thing you cannot do ..that is build the boat without buying the Plans...as a pirate.(even though eveyone likes real pirates AGGHRRR) .because the design is copyright and it is a small world, so if it was discovered I would support Janusz Madeski the designer to take action against that ..and Euro $300 is excellent value in our opinion. Happy sailing !!

Pearhaps you didn' understand my point... Of course i will not do that. My 5.80 will be registered in the class. I just say that the class only survy if most of the saillors register their boats...and so the process needs to be easy, cheap and rasonable. Abaut pirates and buying plans...well you believe on what you want😉 Best regards to you and i hope to see you on the ocean with our minis 5.80...i don't have interest on the globe but but i want to do a transat

Yes the Class Registation and Cetification..also entering events these days equire way too much paperwork for sure....but as an Organiser it is this way or not at all...because by putting on the events and even trying to build a One Design Class...we have no other option...for events, we are required to meet standards or we can be personably liable...or Government official will stop the event. If we are not Official, we cannot offer the fun parts of the event most sailors want and enjoy ..and for the 5.80 class, if we do not at least have regulations, rules and manage Registations , then we have a messy fleet that most do not want. All this paperwork creats a huge amount of work for us, as the organiser...so believe me when we say we TRY to keep it to a minimum as we like to enjoy life too ! and this is ou passion NOT our business I mkae the class for me LOL cause I love seeing people involved in adventue and sailing....but it is all a balance of managing expectations and dreams ... so looking forward to sail with you ...and if someone buys the plans , builds, forgets the papework and goes micro cruising.. I am VERY happy..woop woop!!
