Hello everyone. Looking for okoume plywood. I want to start construction in April in Poland. Are there people here who would give me a reference to the company producing okoume slices, as close to Poland as possible? Because it's about transportation. Of course I will need a certificate. Please note that I do not want to build with the CNC Kit. And one more question; Will the sailboat be certified when building without the CNC Kit? Thank you Jaroslaw

Hi Jaroslaw, I can not help with the plywood front. Trekka Plywood came from Spain. As far as building by the plan without CNC kit, 100% you can build it to class certification. There is nothing in the class requirements that says you need to build with a CNC kit, it is just for some of us it is dollars/euro vs time vs skill consideration. Download the documents on this page, these documents are in my opinion the most important on the site if you want to end up with a class certified boat. www.classglobe580.com/class-registration/ Good luck. bruce

So certification and transportation shouldn't be a problem. Good luck and have fun.

Hello Iryna Karan. Write me here the technical specification of okoume plywood that you have. Let someone on the forum tell me if the plywood data required for certification by 5.80ClassGlobe will be accepted. Need: a) Waterproof MARINE plywood 8mm on deck, cockpit, bulkheads and built-in interiors, 11 sheets (1.22m x 2.44m) b) Waterproof MARINE plywood 5 - 6 mm for cabinets etc. 1 sheet (1.22m x 2.44m) c) Waterproof MARINE plywood 10mm for the bottom, side and transom plating 12 sheets (1.22m x 2.44m) I will need to send me this plywood to Poland to the following address: rgion, podlaskie voivodeship. Write me how long I have to wait for the plywood Regards Jaroslaw

Hi Jaroslaw, unfortunately, I can`t tell you whether the quantities are sufficient, as I am not finished with my construction yet. As far as I know, these are the minimum plywood requirements. To be on the safe side, I ordered 2 more sheets of each strength. Remember if you make a mistake while cutting you have a problem because there is no material left f you have to redo a step while building. Some information about my plywood purchase is on my blog: minisailer.ch/?p=92
