Just to save any confusion there is ONLY ONE OFFICIAL CNC file acepted for Class Globe 5.80 Registration...the reason for this is that it is very easy for any other file not to be exactly on form which was apparent from the first plan buyer who wanted to make their own CNC file. with one official file we know they are all exactly the same.

Here is the statement from the CNC KIT PAGE of the Website if you do not have a kit supplier.

You bought 5.80 plans and want to cut your kit locally. Can you buy the Official 5.80 CNC file to do that? Not if you have a kit supplier in your county. You must then buy the kit from one of the official agents. No other cutting file is accepted for 5.80 Class Registration.

Exciting news wish the pricing was available from the European suppliers , so far I only see the pricing for the USA.

There is a lot happening with all of us establishing the Globe 5.80 Class right now, created by the strong interest from sailors around the world. It has all happened in just a few weeks, so it may yet take a little longer for some agents to complete the calculations of all components. As soon as a kit agent has completed their pricing and forwaded it, we will post the base price on the 5.80 website in the CNC kit section. Some are organising price and supply of completed Keels, rudder, and Hull and deck built and glassed, ready for you to complete, deck gear packages etc, much more than just the timber components. For now, you can register your interest with your closest agent and they will update you. Good luck.

Great to see all the interest. I’m sure there is a great deal of work going on to make this all a success.

What would be useful perhaps is a little information on when pricing will be available. This may help to balance some expectations and interests. Also perhaps to allow people to think about their our timings and priorities during these “interesting” times we are in at the moment.

We ae still appointing Kit Agents as we speak, so they are all coming at it from different start dates.. and there is a lot for them to prepare before confirming kits Price!..some are already cutting kits to assist developeing the best value pice...so best to check in with your local or close 5.80 KIT agent , Register interest and they will make contact when done..USA, Russia, Holland, New Zealand, Brazil, Capetown and Germany are all either ready to go or imminently ready. Once I have the costing from most or at least eight suppliers we will list them on the 5.80 web site. Thanks

The prices for CNC kits from Kolibri in the Netherlands are available, they have several kits for the plywood, timber and epoxy. Not cheap but a one stop shop should reduce the time to find all the timber, and the CNC cut parts will definite safe a lot of building time.

Hi, do you have prices from Kolibri? I do not see it in their web. Can you post it here? I am from Lithuania, and waiting for Polish CNC cutter to be appointed, meanwhile exploring other options. Thanks.

You will find 5.80 Kit pices will vary from country to country so shop around. Most of the frieght costs are the standard fee rather than the distance travelled..so?? and in some cases it is no more than having your plywood delivered anyway. For Trekka we shipped plywood from Italy to Poland and I could have shipped a kit cheaper from the UK to Poland ...good luck

Kolibri are 50% more expensive than Fyne. Amazing how the countries with cheap labour rates always have greedy capitalist owners who want to make a killing from one sale 🤬

For those interested here is the kit cost for the Australian Agent Denham Marine...

My pricing for the CNC cut kit is as follows

Solid timber CNC milled – based on using Red Grandis eucalypt (ADD 550kg/m3 – see attached) - $1500

Plywood – 25 sheets of Lloyd’s Certified BS1088 Okoume (Gaboon) ADD – 480-500kg/m3, CNC cut as per the sheet layout guide and file royalty - $6366.50. Ply cost - $4125, Cutting $1730

This will be the initial pricing and may be revised once the first couple are cut.

Superwag, Cheap labor rates in the Netherlands? Kolibri is known for excellent high quality craftsmanship, but yes I agree it pays off to shop around.
Strange that delivery costs from the UK are lower to the Netherlands then inside UK.

Hi..Yes there is...usualy pevious kit builder...but I have your equiry and will get back as soon as I can..we currently have three others wanting to be 5.80 kit agent in Italy...thanks
