Hi, all this is very exiting ! What do you think of the possibility fr this new class to allow for auxiliary man powered propulsion such as rowing or skulling. This would make a lot of sense for such a small boat and make the race really different and interesting.

Just a question about the. design : I wonder if the rear part of the 5,80 sailboat is not too bulky, this explaining the excessive pitching of the boat. The old ones (Harlé designer for example) had the expertise of these rears and vaults allowing the rear flow and therefore the weak pitching at the front.... ? Maybe I 'm wrong Best regards

HI...I am not a designer but understand some basic principles and she is only a 19ft boat, but can carry a huge weight and she sails really well when you accept what she was designed to do...I do not feel she pitches excessively, she is a great all rounder and you must learn to sail her to her limits, no more, cause if you go beyond that, funny things will happen. One thing is for sure...she will look after you in any conditions and is fun. No the best of anything but perfect for what she was designed for. She will sail around the world or around the bay ..as she was meant to and can have a lot of fun racing the one design fleet. She could be narrower aft< but then you have a smaller cockpit and less surfing ..etc etc...change one thing and you get a knock on that effects something else.. so a One design 5.80 she is thanks for the comment..
